Meet our Core Pilates Instructor, Charles!
Charles has been a fitness professional for over eighteen years. He has taught group exercise classes, has been a personal trainer and a Thai yoga massage practitioner. His clients have ranged from athletic teams, firefighters, corporate executives, retiree’s and work at home parents.
After a workplace injury in ’02 and subsequent back surgery, John found yoga while attending Otterbein College in Westerville. There was never a spiritual aspect where he practiced, so for a long time John had no idea that yoga was more than just a workout; it was a way of life.
Multiple back surgeries later, coupled with debilitating chronic pain, John kept returning to yoga as a way to deal with the ever-present pain and the depression that came along with it. After recovering from the long road of 4 back surgeries, John found himself at a crossroads in life and becoming a yoga teacher was one of those roads.
John completed his 200 hour teacher training at Yoga on High in July of 2016 (with a specialty in Hatha yoga) and has been teaching regularly since. Due to his personal journey with chronic pain, depression, loss of bodily function and a lack of mobility, John tailors his classes to make yoga accessible to anyone. His real love is to teach slower, more recuperative and restorative classes, while introducing his students to the other aspects of the yoga tradition.
He is certified in Reiki, Restorative and Hatha yoga and is working towards his 500 hour RYT.

Anca is a Columbus-based yoga teacher who has over 7 years of teaching experience. She completed her 200 RYT Yoga Alliance approved certification and has offered workshops, coached new yoga teachers, and taught multiple yoga disciplines such as vinyasa, yin, and Bikram yoga. Anca is formally trained by Caroline Klebl, a veteran student of Pattabhi Jois, in Los Angeles, California. She is inspired by amazing teachers she has studied yoga with such as Shiva Rea, Bryan Kest, Tiffany Cruikshank, Joseph Encinia and many others. Anca believes yoga is for everyone, as it creates the discipline to seek and accept truth, and the courage to show up as you are. She is happy to have the privilege to teach and to connect with students and friends of the Columbus yoga community!
Theresa began a regular yoga practice in 2013, however, she was introduced to the practice by her mom years prior. She has always been a mover as well as a contemplator, so yoga has been the right fit for her. She completed her 200- hour teacher training in 2016 through Yoga on High, specializing in vinyasa, however she is a lover of all types of yoga and movement. Compassion, in her opinion, is one of the most important elements of self-care, therefore, tries to adapt an ‘if it hurts, pull back and evaluate’ attitude. She is a dreamer, adventurer, and Truth seeker; looking for ways to eliminate the mundane; aiming to invite ease and a smile on the journey into the self.
When Theresa is not on the mat, she is earning a Masters in Applied Statistics, riding her bike, or fighting off aliens in Colorado. Theresa’s education also includes a bachelor’s in Anthropology, along with numerous continuing education classes. Theresa is a life long learner who loves expanding her skill set and teaching others.
